Ansel Adams was an American photographer and environmentalist. He was an only child and was named after his uncle, Ansel Easton. When he was four he broke his nose in a garden during an aftershock. He remembered watching smoke from a fire that was burning the city. He was a hyperactive child and he always got sick. He was dismissed from many private schools because he never showed up. His mother did not approve of his interest of photography. His father gave him his first camera in 1916. He took pictures of Yosemite and he returned with his own camera a year later. He attended a lot of camera club meting.
